5 Flop Smartphones of 2018

5 Flop Smartphones of 2018

For all the Android users 2018 was a year of great fun. Yes, you heard the right. 2018 gives the smartphone world a new dimension and created a huge commotion among the smartphone users, no doubt. But on the other hand, there were launched many such smartphones that badly broken the heart of many a people. With a few frivolous modifications many a branded company launched their smartphones and claimed to be the 'successor' of the previous one. It is undeniable that with a lot of extraordinary features, great designs, marvellous cameras several famous smartphone companies won the heart of many a people, but in my opinion these companies also made some users disappointed and nastily frustrated with some common mistakes. So here I have listed five such smartphones that can be included in the flop category smartphones of 2018.

1. Realme 2

realme 2

You would be surprised to hear that when Realme launched its first smartphone Realme 1 it received a lot of appreciation from the Indian market; but when subsequently Realme launched its next handset as Realme 2, it was the most disappointing one for the Realme lovers. No doubt, with 3GB RAM and 32 GB of internal memory, coupled with FHD+ display and powered by MediaTek Helio P60 processor, Realme 1 won the heart of many a Android users. Moreover, the phone was available around nine thousand rupees that was in my opinion a good consistency with the features. But when later Realme 2 was launched it was really very very disappointing for the Realme lovers. As there was nothing very special modification except some additional features like the display-notch, fingerprint sensor, SD 450 processor  and dual camera, this idea of Realme indeed stroke the heart of many Android users. So I would like to include Realme 2 in the flop smartphone category of 2018.

2. Redmi Note 6 Pro

Next comes in the list of flop smartphones of 2018, is Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. Yes, it is a matter of wonder that when Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro was launched, it received a good deal of appreciation from the Indian market as well as from the users. But when Redmi Note 6 Pro comes in the market and claimed to be the successor of Redmi Note 5 Pro, it was really very very disappointing for the Android users.

Redmi Note 5 Pro which is claimed to be the camera beast of India, won the heart of Indian market. It comes with 6GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage, coupled with 5.99" FHD+ display, 12 MP dual rear camera with 20MP of selfie camera and SD 636 processor. But subsequently when Redmi Note 6 Pro was launched with only an additional feature like display-notch and no other major changes, naturally the smartphone broke the heart of many a people. So in my opinion Redmi Note 6 Pro must be included in the flop smartphone category of 2018.

3. Vivo Y83

Vivo Y83

Vivo Y83 comes with 4 GB RAM and 32 GB internal memory, 6.22" IPS display, 13MP rear camera with 8MP selfie camera and 3260mAh battery. The smartphone is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 (12nm) processor and comes at around fourteen thousand rupees which is quite good in my opinion but doesn't at all justify the price if viewed from its price-point.

Remarkably when Vivo launched this smartphone there was a good trend of display-notch which Vivo provided at just around fourteen thousand rupees. So may be this is a plus point of Vivo Y83, but if overall seen Vivo Y83 doesn't at all justify its price. Thereafter I have thrown it in the flop smartphone category of 2018.

4. Nokia 3.1 Plus

nokia 3.1 plus

You would be glad to hear that in 2018 the most trusted company Nokia launched its several smartphones coupled with marvellous features and great designs at many affordable ranges of price. Due to this, Nokia received a lot of praise from the Indian users as well.

However, in this year of 2018 Nokia brought such a smartphone that made many a people surprised which was Nokia 3.1 Plus. This smartphone comes with 6.0" IPS display, 13MP+5MP dual rear camera with 8MP selfie camera, and is powered by MediaTek Helio P22 (12nm) chipset. It has 3500mAh of battery capacity and comes in two variants. One is 3GB of RAM with 32 ROM and the other is 2GB of RAM and 16GB of ROM. The price was set Rs.10,625 and Rs. 9,499 respectively which was not so good in comparison with Nokia 5.1 Plus which gives better features and better processor (MediaTek Helio P60). And this is quite a powerful chipset which you can buy almost at the same price as Nokia 3.1 Plus gives. So why should the users buy Nokia 3.1 Plus instead of Nokia 5.1 Plus? This is a big blunder from Nokia in my opinion and so I kept it in the category of the mist disappointing and flop smartphones of 2018.

5. OPPO A7

oppo a7 , OPPO A7

Last comes in the list of flop smartphones of 2018 is OPPO A7. Yes, you heard the right. OPPO A7 was launched at nearly seventeen thousand rupees with FHD+ display, SD 450 processor, 13MP+2MP dual real camera with 26MP selfie camera coupled with fingerprint sensor and 4239mAh battery capacity. It has 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory.

But the most striking thing is that the phone is providing SD 450 processor at nearly seventeen thousand rupees, whereas in these days SD 450 is easily available at just around eight or nine thousand rupees. There are several other good processor like MediaTek Helio P70, SD 636, SD 660 which are quite powerful and is easily available in the market at just around fourteen or fifteen thousand rupees. Whereas OPPO is providing SD 450 chipset at nearly seventeen thousand rupees. Although the features that OPPO A7 provides are quite impressive but if seen overall, it doesn't justify the price. Therefore, in my opinion this smartphone must be a flop one and should be included in the category of flop smartphones of 2018.

These are the five such smartphones from which the Indian market as well as the many a people expected something new and unique, but they received just the opposite. Thereafter, as per my viewpoint they are one of the flop smartphones of 2018.

What do you think about these smartphones? Feel free to share your opinion regarding these smartphones and let me know whether you agree with me or not.
